I design gardens around how you live

I create outdoor spaces that are tactile and considered — from quiet courtyards to country plots on the South Downs and across the New Forest.

A garden isn't just planting, it's a living extension of your home. With thoughtful layouts and grounded, season-aware detail, every choice brings clarity, resilience, and quiet growth.

Introduction

Not just planting plans — listening, then designing

I am not interested in gardens that only photograph well. Every project starts with how you use your space, what you are willing to maintain, and what should feel calm the moment you step outside. That conversation becomes clear layouts, resilient planting, and build-ready detail — so contractors know exactly what you mean, and you know exactly what you are getting.

Philosophy

My belief

I believe a beautiful garden does not happen by accident. It happens through listening, understanding, and hundreds of quiet decisions that work together until the space simply feels right.

By design

Elegance here means restraint — good proportions, honest materials, planting that supports wildlife without looking untamed.

In practice

Thoughtful on paper and on site: levels that drain, paths that read in low light, and schedules you can actually keep.

Let's talk
What does your garden design process look like?

Each project follows the same calm sequence — so you know what happens next and can pause between stages if you need to.

  1. I listen to your ideas — how you live outdoors, what you want to maintain, and how the garden should feel.
  2. I visit the site for a measured survey, with soil and ground assessment and a lighting check.
  3. Moodboard and concept direction before we lock in detail.
  4. Detailed plans for contractors — layout, levels, materials and planting they can price and build from.
  5. A shared project plan with trusted contractors and agreed milestones.
  6. Planting plan and seasonal care guidance once the build is in the ground.
Do you provide 3D visuals before build?

Yes. They help you see the space — levels, materials and views from key windows — before anything is built. Contractors get a clearer brief too, which usually means more accurate costs.

Can you work in phases?

Yes. Phasing works well, especially when we line stages up with the seasons so access, planting and weather support a smooth build.

Do you manage contractors on site?

With the full design service, I manage the project through to completion. You can log into a client platform to follow progress; contractors work to my plans and come to me for day-to-day questions. We agree milestones together so you always know what happens next.

Can you help with just a small part of my garden?

Yes. You do not need a whole-plot commission — I can focus on a border, terrace, lighting, planting or anything else that helps you fall back in love with your garden.

What are your fees?

Fees depend on the size of your garden and what you need. I will give you a free, no-obligation quote once I understand the brief — get in touch and we can talk it through.
